CONTEMPORARY DANCE FESTIVAL IN THE ROME METRO
COSE DI OGGI Compagnia Incontempo
SYNOPSIS
What better way than the Metro to help us make visible our attitudes, habits, behaviors, relationships, and reactions to ourselves, others, and a space where so many individuals flow, influx, and converge—similar because they are human, but also so different because they are unique.
Their indifference, their carelessness, their shifty glances, their haste, their contrasting approaches, their stops, the way they sit and observe, their bonds, sometimes so dependent on the relationship, their reactions to the situations unfolding before their eyes at that moment, their feelings and reactions toward those who are different... and then, just as they arrived, entered, and passed through the Metro, they leave...
BIOGRAPHY
The INCONTEMPO company was founded in 2007 by dancer and choreographer Rozenn Corbel and percussionist Alberto Di Giacomo. Since their meeting in 2001, they have been researching the relationship between percussion and contemporary dance, and the connections between movement, voice (as a melodic, rhythmic, and acting medium), and percussive sounds, which give rise to an interaction between body, mood, expressiveness, theatricality, and musicality. This began a close collaboration that has resulted in theatrical and educational events.
The company's choreographic creations and improvisations are often accompanied by live music, which is created specifically for each production. In these cases, the show's design often includes one or more moments dedicated exclusively to musical expression.
In addition to theatrical productions, the company performs in alternative venues (museums, art galleries, historic villas, showrooms, urban spaces).
In 2008, the Incontempo company was included in Co.Re. (Regional Coordination of Contemporary Dance of Lazio) and in 2013 it obtained a week-long residency for its new creation, Inside and Out of Time, supported and sponsored by CORE and the MIBAC at the Scatola dell'arte in Rome.
